Mia Bedtime Stories — Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026 · Ignis Algos Inc.
Mia Bedtime Stories ("the app") is made by Ignis Algos Inc. ("we", "us"). It is a story app for children, and it was designed from the start around the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This policy is written for parents and guardians.
The only personal information: your child's first name
A parent enters the child's first name only — no last name, no account, no sign-up, no email address, no location. The name has exactly one purpose: Mia says it in the story's spoken greeting and in the story's name lines, so your child hears themself as the hero of the story.
How the name is used, step by step
- When a story is played, the first name is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server.
- Our server asks our text-to-speech provider, Deepgram, Inc., to voice the short greeting and the few story lines that contain the name. The rest of every story is pre-recorded and contains no name.
- Those short spoken-name audio clips may be cached on our servers, indexed by a one-way cryptographic hash — they are not attached to any account, profile, or identity, and we keep no database of children's names. Caching simply makes repeat plays start faster.
- The name is never used for advertising, profiling, or anything other than telling the story.
What the app never collects
- No accounts or profiles of children.
- No chat and no microphone — children cannot send messages or audio.
- No advertising, no behavioral tracking, and no analytics about your child.
- No location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers collected by us.
- We never sell personal information — about children or anyone.
Technical logs
Story requests are anonymous. Like any web service, our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) briefly for security and to enforce a per-address rate limit that keeps the service fair. These logs are not used to profile children or for advertising.
Purchases
The optional one-time Full Unlock is processed by Google Play. Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, receives purchase and receipt information so the app can verify and restore the unlock. RevenueCat and Google Play never receive your child's name from us.
Parents' rights
You may contact us at any time to ask what we hold, to decline the name feature (simply don't enter a name, or use a nickname), or to have cached spoken-name audio associated with a name removed from our servers. Because there are no accounts, just email us the first name in question and we will purge matching cached clips and confirm when it's done.

Service providers
We share the first name only with the providers needed to operate the app: Deepgram (text-to-speech), and — for purchases only — Google Play and RevenueCat. They may use it solely to provide their service to us.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects children's information, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and note the change prominently.
